Feb 25, 2019· Absolutely. Using a stick electrode on cast iron is destined for sub-par results in my experience. Me personally, I won't stick weld unless it's the only welder available in an emergency. Sure it has its place in certain applications, but for work in this hobby (other than sheet metal work) TIG is simply better all-around in my book.
